LA Times to Senate Dems: Confirm Keisler   [Ed Whelan]

In this house editorial yesterday, the Los Angeles Times encourages Senate Democrats to display a “cooperative spirit” rather than “obstructionism” and to “forswear knee-jerk opposition to Bush appointees who are within the legal mainstream.”  The editorial specifically recommends that Senate Democrats confirm D.C. Circuit nominee Peter Keisler.

Will Senate Democrats act in a manner that even the Los Angeles Times regards as unreasonable and obstructionist?  I wouldn’t bet against their doing so.  Keisler had his Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on August 1, 2006—more than 5-1/2 months ago.  Let’s see if and when he gets confirmed.
