Confirmation Battles   [Ed Whelan]

Yesterday, ratifying the deal that the White House had struck with Senator Levin, the Senate confirmed the Sixth Circuit nominations of Helene White (a former Clinton appointee and Levin’s former cousin-in-law) and of Raymond Kethledge and the nomination of Stephen Murphy to a federal district court in Michigan.  The vote on White was 63-32; Kethledge and Murphy were confirmed by voice vote.  Congratulations to Kethledge and Murphy.

On NRO today, an excellent house editorial discusses Senate Democrats’ remarkable obstruction of Fourth Circuit nominee Robert Conrad.
